Is computer science the right major to become an IT?
The description from Berkeley is true. I am about to get my BSCS in august. You are making new things that people have never seen or heard of like the iphone or maintaining and updating code or hardware like windows operating systems. You will not be doing modern IT stuff all too often. Some computer scientist can't even emble their computer. If you are looking for a challenge, Computer science is the right place. By all means, take some of those cles but make sure they can be transfered so that you don't lose money. You can take the time to buy programming books on C++, Java and C#. They are what you will be using most often.
