Does Mayor Cory Booker deserve a gold star for trying to revitalize a lost cause in Newark, NJ?

Umm, not a gold star, maybe a happy face :-), but the gold star still has to be earned. Revitalization, a lost cause in Newark? No, revitalization is not a lost cause in Newark, because, if given a "total" chance, Newark can be "revitalized", completely. While most of the recent focus has been on the new "Arena", and it's surrouding counter-parts, NJPAC (not even an honorable mention for the one and only Newark Symphony Hall). I am a "NEWARKER", born and raised. Have we forgotten about the "inner city". The plight Newark had some 40 years ago, still, exist. Crime (while not reported seems to be at an all time high, we are losing our children at alarming rates, again, not always reported), drugs (very prevelant), insufficient and sub-standard housing (yes, there are many new homes, but who, currently, from Newark, would pay the current market prices for a home in say the Central Ward). True downtown Newark is up and coming, but, how many Newarkers hold full time positions at NJPAC and the new "Arena". Even with the "Immenent Domain" situation which has run ramped through Newark, in all of its original communities, how many of the original "tax payers", has the Honorable Corey Booker acknowledged, nonetheless, heard their concerns .Oh and lets not forget the education situation, while there are a number of new schools, Newark while it has many qualified educators, many, many more are needed, the children of Newark should not be denied qulified educators due to environmental cirstances. Deaf ears, when it comes to the almight dollar, are so much more deaf. Lets give Mayor Booker a little more time to see exactly where he is coming from, or at least a little more opportunity to prove he is worthy of that gold star. God Bless.
