Well, Coldplay is an awesome(in my opinion)British band...they have Speed of Sound, Clocks, Fix You, and so on. The Beatles are amazing! And British. But it seems like you don't mean older bands. :) Well here are some of their songs: Hello Goodbye, Hey Jude, Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, Yellow Submarine, All You need is Love,etc.
