Should I buy the HTC Thunderbolt?

I am looking at buying a new phone and I really like the thunderbolt. However I am a little hesitant because of the bad battery life. I mostly use my phone for texting and the occional game. Also, will the battery last longer if I use Wifi as opposed relying on the 4G connection? I probably would not use the web browser too heavily so would this help conserve some of the battery?
