Effective tips for using distilled witch hazel?

I just bought witch hazel because my friend says its really good for acne. But i don't really know what would be the fastest way to get rid of acne with it? I'm still going to continue with my acne face washes and mosturizer and what not. but what are good tips for using witch hazel?
