Was the timing on the zion ranch raid synomysis with Mitt Romney not being chosen as the Republican candidate?

I'm not one to typically call black helicopters and such, but the timing on the zion ranch raid and all the negative publicity the mormons received just seemed too close to the timing of who was chosen to represent the republicans for office. It just seems rather odd that it was such a huge story at same exact time Americans were choosing between a mormon (Romney) and Mccain. After Mccain was chosen I never really heard anything more about the story. Don't get me wrong. By no means am I standing up for the zion church and what they did! I just question the timing of the raid in correlation to who was chosen to be in the most powerful position in the world. Again, the subject here is timing. Nothing else. I also this question in the election category so if have seen it twice, then I apologize.
